From Oban to Montrose Trip.

Really enjoying the fantastic pictures: all places I have been to but yearning to get back!

Last night in the west beach carpark in Lossiemouth we we wondering what was going on. The car park filled with over 100 cars, we were penned in. My wife was worried. I decided to wander out to see what was going on. It turned out they were all there to witness the northern lights. So I joined them and took some photos.

I also took a shot of the moon over the bay.

That is one wonder of the world I have never managed to witness, Bill. It’s on my bucket list

We lived in Bergen for over 5 years and I often made business trips up to the far north of Norway. Despite that and despite being on a pub in Tromso when everybody rushed out to see the lights I still missed them.
So I have never seen them and this is somebody who now lives in NE Scotland!

Popped into Portsoy enroute to Peterhead prison museum today.

We did the prison a few weeks back. Found it fascinating. I liked the story about the escapee who was given wire cutters to fashion bird cages!!

I intend to do a thread on Peterhead prison Tony. I reckon it’s outstanding.
